The Proceeds

The Futrell-Mauldin Fund, along with its companion organization, the Rocky Mount Community Fund, donate approximately $50,000.00 a year to charitable causes in this area, and we are optimistic that our plan to make the Tar River Wine Festival the preeminent fundraising event in eastern North Carolina will enable the fund to donate even more money to the ever-increasing needs of our local charities.

Last year our event raised in excess of $32,000 to benefit the Greater Rocky Mount area. Our goal this year is to double that amount.

The mission of the Futrell-Mauldin Fund is to make a significant and lasting difference in the lives of the citizens of Rocky Mount, Nash, and Edgecombe Counties. The fund pursues this mission by:

  • providing direct financial resources to support a wide variety of community needs including education, health, social services, arts, civic affairs, and the conservation and preservation of historical, cultural, civic and environmental resources;
  • serving as a vehicle for giving, allowing citizens with varied charitable interests and abilities to have an opportunity to invest in the community's quality of life and its future;
  • building and maintaining permanent endowment funds of approximately $1 million for the benefit of the community; and
  • educating citizens and involving them in charitable giving.

We greatly appreciate your financial support of this year’s event.
